While on my shift today, I came in contact with someone wanting to sell a handgun. The gun in question is a nice Glock 30, with a couple hundred (less than 500) rounds through it, with aftermarket night sights. His asking price was $500, but he was willing to consider offers.

As I have no desire to buy the gun, I politley declined, but I volunteered to let everyone at the precinct know. So, I got his name and number and went about my work.

Anyone know if this price is ballpark? I might be able to help him move it if I can say (honestly) what a fair price is (either by advising him to come down, or telling my coworkers that he's priced right).

Also, heck...anyone interested? I can pass along contact info for you.

I sold mine last year with less "miles" on it than that for $425.00, so I'd say you should be able to pick that one up for substantially less. I guess it depends on how badly he wants to sell it.

You can get a new one from Davidson's (web based gun warehouse that ships to a local FFL - http://www.galleryofguns.com) for not much more.

They are listing for $700 new, I think the discounted price when you go through the process was $550 - here is the link:

I usually find that they are the high end of what you should pay locally and I live in North Jersey where prices are inflated i.e. if you are elsewhere, much cheaper.

My local shop sells them brand new for $525 without night sights. Last 30 I saw in the shop used was $450 without night sights but that was a consignment piece so the shop is making $45 on it and the seller would be getting $405.

Like RUT said, depends on how fast the guy is wanting to sell. The G30 is a very choice Glock though... Seems to have a lot of interest.
