Price check: new Colt Commander

Can anybody tell me what the expected range is for a new Colt, 1991, NRM, blued Commander is, please? This is on a retail, not internet, sale, out of an established gun store. I expect to pay a little more. How much more?

Was in a N.C. gun store yesterday and they had that exact one for well over $700......can't remember if it was 749 or 799. Way too much compared to internet prices but unless you have a dealer that will transfer at a reasonable price you may have to pay store price. I love my Colts, but for that money I'd be buying a Smith 1911.

Same store had two used CZ 97's under $400....am also giving them serious thought.

Whoops: The Colt was 5", not a Commander..sorry.

I've seen two new ones in the stores over the last couple months, one was $649 and the other was $699.

New Colt 1911's in general are very hard to find right now and Commanders are even more scarce, if you want one you have to pay what they want for it.

ulflyer what gun shop were you in? I haven't seen a NIB Colt in a NC gunstore in a few months.

Seems I read something about labor disputes at Colt. Are these two related?
