I just picked up a NIB SA Micro Compact 1911. It's their "Loaded" version: night sights, ambi safety, extended beavertail, commander hammer, etc. Thing is, I got it for $600 out-the-door. I checked the SA site, and they have a suggested price around $1100 for this model. Now I'm curious. How much does this model go for in your neck of the woods? Did I really get the deal I'm thinking I got?

Yes, you sure did ...

But, um ... you sure it was brandnew and unfired? If so, tremendous deal.

I bought a LW Loaded (bi-tone) Micro about a year ago; with the discount I got, it was $825 out the door, which was then about the best price by far in the area.

Remember, when shooting these puppies: firm grip, firm grip, firm grip. Also -- they require quality mags (Wilson 47 OX work the best in mine, the SA mags pretty well, CMC Shooting Star do NOTwork in mine).

I had about a dozen or so FTFs, FTRBs in the first 200 rounds. After that, it's been 100% reliable. Mine is also exceptionally accurate.

Yup, brand new and unfired. I was thinking that it was a good deal, as I bought the Mil-Spec version of the same gun about a year ago for about the same price. And that one has none of the "loaded" features found on this one. I guess I'm still a little shocked that my local shop is selling them for this price. Oh well. I was more than happy to take it off of their hands :D
