A local shop has a S&W 10 38 special revolver for $125. The blueing is good with slight pitting on the outside of the barrel. Is this a good price for this revolver?
Check out cylinder play, end shake, timing, forcing cone condition and cylinder gap, all that sort of stuff before purchase. That's what'll cause it to go bang, not pitting.
Update:
Well, I went to a local range and rented a S&W 10 and loved it. So I went to the local shop that had the S&W 10 for $125 for a closer inspection and possible purchase. They had sold it. Darn it. Now I'm wanting a wheel gun and not in a position to purchase one.
They had a couple more that were $195. But, my limit is a total of $200. WIth local sales tax it would have put the total at $211. And, the shop wasn't willing to make a deal.
