Price check SW Mod 19

Local shop has a Smith mod 19 US Customs 1978 Anniversary gun with the wood box for $695, There is a slightly visible turn ring and no visible fouling on the front of the cambers. It is a 4" with the target hammer and wide trigger. Just wondering if that sounds like a fair price or not, thanks for any input.

I'd say that's about 150-200 bucks high, at least for my AO (middle TN). Commemerative guns don't seem to bring much, if any, premium.

Ask over at S&W forum, but I would give about $600 for that. Less if possible, but not a penny more.

is not at all uncommon for a pristine, nickel, UNFIRED model 19~!

I really don't care that it is a commemorative model, to me its a really clean mod 19, don't see them roll through here very often. I was more or less wondering if they bring prices like this, to me it seems high.

Think to yourself: If it were made today, the same way as it was then, how much would one cost? Then cut that price in half, and that's about how much they are asking for that one.
