I've got a quick question for one of ya'll who has some knowledge on High Standards. My father-in-law has a High Standard Sport King that he's thinking about trading up to something larger. He's had it since the mid-70's and I'm not sure he's ever shot it. Any one have an idea on what it's worth? I'd hate to seem him make a bad trade.

Thanks.

Thanks Bill,

I'd forgot about looking at there. I found exactly what I needed. Now I'll have an idea of the price range on these things and what kind of trade to expect. Although thinking about it, he may be better off to keep it and just buy a Ruger P95 or a good revolver.

If you are going to sell it good luck, The guys that know these pistols are getting up there in age and not buying, but selling their collections, I had a mint flite king with extra barrel and had a hard time selling it. the younger generations don`t know their value.

The top of the line High Standards can be worth substantial sums of money. The lesser High Standard .22s can often be bought for very reasonable sums. Some are actually match pistols masquerading as plinkers. Some are actually plinkers.

I know what you mean. I have some guns that I've sold for less than I paid for them 25 years ago.....
