Agsalaska, gimme a break, and spare me the "free market 101" class. It was a gag thread from the start.
Yeah, I think it stinks to prey on people when you don't have to. Sometimes quantity of sales beats bending over your customers. But yeah, maybe the manufacturer is in short supply, so the retailer has to beef up prices because his inventory is low..
Like it was said on another thread, American companies do not keep stock piles any longer to protect the economy. They produce on demand, and all it takes is a panic to spin everything out of control.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the big retailers and manufacturers were sitting at a round table during the election, holding hands, hoping that the guy would get re-elected.
And the "laughs" were to the users of THR that had some good comments about Crazier Than Dingbats (with hydro-phobe).
But all-in-all, I just wanted to have some fun this morning since I didn't have to go to work, and was in a good mood and all. Cooked flap jacks for the kids, made the wife coffee, and played with the dog.
I hope you have a good rest of the day. In a 1990's inner city voice I say, "Peace Out!"
