What would be a good price for a Beretta 92 FS? The local gun shop has them for $429.99. Appreciate all responses.

Used or new? I've seen the new 92s (slanted dustcovers, plastic guide-rod/trigger/safety/sights) on sale for 499, normally about 510 to 529.
Now, if you're talking a LNIB old-model 92FS (or barely used with little or no noticeable wear), 429 could still be considered a reasonable price depending on where you are.

I just returned from the store after buying it! However, although the pistol is brand new and they have fifty (50) others in stock, it is the "Police Special" version. I asked the clerk what the difference is and he advised that the only difference is the finish (matte). It may be that because this model is less "polished" that it sells for less. I don't know but it still seems worth the price. Anybody heard of a Police Special Beretta? It did come with three (3) factory fifteen (15) round magazines. I've never had a Beretta pistol before so I hope I like it. It does appear to be nicely put together.
The current Police Special is the same as a regular 92FS but comes with three mags instead of two and a cardboard box instead of plastic case. If the pistols are storied in a department's armory there is no need for lots of empty pastic cases. IIRC the Police Special from the 90's had a matte finish.

Yeah the police specials are Matte black, where as other Beretta 92s can be matte black, blued, or duo tone black/silver.
$430 is a great price, I wish I could find that deal! The best price I've found so far is $505 shipped, but then there is the FFL dealer fee, which I haven't asked about yet but is probably like $40-50 here in Cali. = (
I'm going to a gun store on Saturday to scope out prices, but if I remember I think the local one was selling them very closer to MSRP, like $600++.

HAHAHA!! You must be in the part of CONUS that's getting hammered! Heck, don't be shy, that foul weather won't hurt your Beretta, I guarantee it's up to the task!!

My buddy bought a "Police Special" in 40cal with Nite sights for $339.99.
It was unfired, but had Police dept markings on it
evidently an order was cancelled. They do swipe the extra two mags out of
the box, however thy sold them back to him at $12.99 each.

I saw at least 10 Police turn-ins for sale at the Harrisburg gun show last weekend for $290 each. They were very clean, looked hardly shot and came with 2 Mags.
