Prices of Revolvers

Yup. The hidden inflation via Quantitative Easing. Our dollars not only buy less outside of this country. It buys less within. Guns included. Not just revolvers. Y'all ever look at the retail prices of the firearms at the big box stores lately?

The good news is that the relative new shooters, don't want a revolver. The older guys are passing away and many guns are coming to market as family's don't really have an interest in them. I have seen a few good deals of late, I am waiting for a nice 686 or 60 in 357 to come to market in the local gun trader, I just missed a S&W 19 for $500, that was never fired, "my fault", I took too long getting back.

From noon on December 31st, 2000 to noon on January 1st, 2004 is three years and one day. If you chose one random date from 2000 and one random date from 2004, there would be a 25% chance that the two dates would be closer to three years apart than 4 years apart. Why assume that Boricua9mm made a mistake?

I think a lot of the price increases on revolvers, and all other guns, has to do with the internet and online sales. 10 years ago you had a couple of options for selling a gun. Either a personal deal or sell it to a pawn shop/LGS. Now you can put it online and reach millions of potential customers within a couple of days with virtually no cost. More potential customers for an item generally means more "value".

Precisely. When asked to give your age, do you tell someone you're 44 of 44.33 years old?

The point I'm trying to make is that there is more to all of this than our dollar being worthless. There are industry and consumer factors making revolver prices go haywire. When all we discuss is inflation, we do a disservice to those visiting the thread seeking answers.
