Pride Fowler Scopes: Opinions

never even held one. the guys from there used to post a lot on the now-defunct longrangeinternational.com forum. seemed to be well-regarded optics at a reasonable price. they offered to send me a demo for free a couple years ago but i never got around to it.

offhand, i think it's a really great concept, BUT it would be useless if the reticle doesn't match your dope. so i would only get one if i planned to use the ammo/barrel-length they recommend.

that is what I was thinking as well. The M1A that I plan to mount optics on sports an 18in bbl. I wonder what bbl length PrideFowler used when creating the holdover reticles? Most likely 22 to 24in?

Thoughts?

I have the 3-9 X 32 .22 long rifle version on a CZ 452 American. I love this scope!

It's an etched 1st focal plane reticle, so the BDC feature works at any magnification.

The view through the scope is clear and bright edge to edge. In my opinion the clarity and brightness of the image compares favorably to my other scopes (Nightforce, Trijicon, Burris and Nikon).

If you follow the instructions as to ammo selection (very simple with the relatively limited choices in .22 LR) and sight in you can easily hit pennies at 50 yds, 223 cases at 100 tennis balls at 200 yds. without any changes to the scope.

Google search and check gunbroker for much better prices than you find at the PF website. Midway had some a while back so check there as well.

i have two, the straight 10x and the 3x9 both are the 800 yard recticles and i have been thoughly pleased and impressed w them. I prefer my 10x as the 3x9 the crosshairs are a bit big for me. I use both with 155 AMAX reloads and i called pride and fowler and they emailed me a correction sheet but with my fps and b.c. the difference was very little. also i can t say enough on the customer service. the 10x i had a bit of somthing inside and on occasion it would stick to the inside lense. shot fine but was annoying. anyway i called scott at pride and fowler explained it to him but and that i was leaving for an antelope hunt the next week. 2 days later a brand new replacement was at my door with a note in it that said to ship the old one back when i got them switched. i am thoughly impressed with them and their customer service.
