Old thread, but I thought I should update.
I went ahead and bought the scope.before mounting, I let it sit in the freezer for 2½ hours then straight into the sink full of room-temp water where it stayed for 3 mins.
As expected, everything checked out.
I mounted it to my RRA 16" which can shoot just under ½ inch with handloads at 100yds. Using a chronograph and the app STRELOK, I was able to pop balloons at 350yds, 400, 490, and even 500yds within the first few shots using the reticle only.
I hesitate to use the word easy, as I had about 25" of windage at the longest distance and was by no means consistent.
Where this scope really shined was the ability to call your own shot in the reticle from the bullet splash and make corrections as needed.
I never had a first round hit but was able to measure my impact and make corrections as needed which lead to a hit in the next couple shots.
I am by no means an experienced shooter, not even close. In fact this was my first time actually hitting my target at the distances listed.
I would strongly recommend this scope to anyone looking to shoot mid-longe range but is reletivley inexperienced in longer range shooting.
I would also like to note something I forgot earlier, the paralax on this scope is spot on and using the mil incriment part of the reticle allowed me to to range the farthest balloon where my rangefinder would not.
The reticle can be used to measure as accurate as 0.05 mil increments.
Hope this helps anyone who is thinking about adding one of these scopes to their collection.
