I've had inconsistent results, and I have not yet found a way to keep the primer from falling out of the caps. Just soaking in acetone doesn't work. Tried hairspray and the caps wouldn't fire. I was able to make a few caps my hat actually discharged the round, but like I said ...

I haven't tried pistol caps (I assume you means toy cap pistols?), how do you do that?

thats me.if ya do it like i say in the video and don't vary any. i almost can guarantee 98% firing and the primer don't come out. i've carried a tin full in my pocket for two weeks with change in my pocket .all but 2 didn't fire the round.i'd say thats pretty consistent.the real trick is gettin the compound very fine before you put it in the caps.since this vid i have added a step of tamping the compound after the alcohol with a wood stick, lightly.settles the compound.one small pistol primer level is all thats needed.
