After adding the cap rake (penny style) my Uberti Wells Fargo has become a regular NON CAP JAMMING favorite.
So here is my DYI list:
Cap Rake Install
DYI Round balls .330
DYI black powder (ball mill, dyi press, ceramic hand crank coffee grinder)
DYI lead trap and gong target.
So far I am thrilled.

The DYI caps with the Prime All compound is the next task.

That's totally awesome Pocket! Nothing like being completely self sufficient.

I really like the lead trap/target holder. Excellent idea.

The trap is an old water well tank I had been saving for bbq pit.

I mounted the plate at an angle to deflect the lead downward.
The drain plug at the bottom was removed so rain water will drain out.

I did the prime all mix...its horrible. Makes a thick sticky Orange/yellow film that gets everywhere...one or two caps fired and it makes the hammer stick. If u use it...id advice not using the dextrin that comes with it and using a different binder... Just one less ingredient. I tried deleting the dextrin and substituting it with a drop of liquid hair spray..which also took place of using alcohol/acetone as a wetting agent. Two birds with one stone...ive also used a drop of superglue and as both binder and wetting agent and it worked well too. I think the amount dextrin they ask u to use in the recipe is over kill. I now use a different method to make my caps that isnt messy and makes them moisture proof and doesnt leave that sticky yellow/orange film everywhere.

Care to detail your cap recipe! I've also had a mess trying the kit and went back to buying caps...

I saw a wells fargo at a pawn shop couple of weeks ago. It came with a flask, ball mold and if I remember right a couple of tools for it. They wanted 345 for it but I thought that wss a bit high.
