primer color coding

has anybody worked out some sort of standard color coding for primers, or is it just individules tastes. thought i would ask, just in case. i am thinking red = hot, high psi loads, blue = low psi or reduced loads, and green for hunting loads. any comments?

I think the boxes they come in are marked whether they are for what...After I load a box of cartridges I write on the ammunition box what was loaded in the case. Calibre, powder/amount, bullet and primer...And log the date and the same information in a ledger...Color code primers?? Why?

not to my knowledge, i have used colored magic markers on primers so i could tell the different loads that i was trying out, when shooting over a chronograph. just to keep track of the load.

Box lable tells much more than color coded primers.

I do color code my primers/brass base when shooting Bowling Pins. That way I get 'most' of my brass back.

I make box labels with my Works Mailing Label program on my computer, placing a label on the top and on one side, so no matter how they're stacked, I know what's in the box. Each 1/2" x 1 3/4" label contains the information on bullet, powder, primer and OAL, plus date. A copy of the label goes next to the entry in my loading log, so I can always cross reference. I also make a few extra labels, so if I load a magazine with a particular load and leave it in, I can put a label on the magazine for future reference.

I store my boolits in 50 round cases. when i am working up loads i make 25 of each kind and I mark half with a sharpy on the primer and half without. i also indicate which is witch on my box with all the info Fred does.

If I know I'm going to be shooting along side a couple of other AR shooters, I mark my primer so I know my brass from theirs. If I'm load testing I just take a pin point marker and write what it it is on the side of the case.

Not only do I note all reloading data on the box, I mark every cartridge case I load with a Sharpie for bullet and powder charge, and I use a red Sharpie to color magnum primers. Sometimes the markings on the side of a brass case come off, but the primer will still be red and I know what the load was.
