Primer hardness (I DON'T want Federal!)

Just another thought. Does your firearm have a frame mounted firing pin? If so, it will help to install an extended one. For my M625JM I put a spent primer under the strain screw and added an extended firing pin too. I now use Wolf primers exclusively but could only use Federals before.

I was getting two-three FTFs / 100 when I switched to Federal SPPs.

I don't want a primer that will only work in 'some' of my guns, tuned or otherwise.

I don't know from revolvers, but my semi offers an extended firing pin that is 'said' to solve the problem when the gun is tuned light. The only thing that has stopped me is trouble finding a 'double' roll pin to to reinstall the fp.
