Hey, anyone have a good way to get primers and powder?

Even the best prices out there become not so good when you tack on the $20 hazmat fee.

Is there some other way to get the things?

Or do you just order a whole lot of the stuff?

Unfortunately, the drive to the closest SW in Goodyear, AZ in my open Jeep in July would probably cost more than the hazmat fee, in gas, sunblock and Gatorade!:)

I could wait for the next gun show, but I'm down to 275 loaded shells. I feel naked.:D

I get mine through the Trap & Skeet Club here.
Every once in a while we put in a sizeable order and it is drop-shipped by the distributor's truck on its way to a larger account. No extra shipping, no hazmat ripoff, just wholesale plus a few percent to the club FFL holder, plus sales tax.

Yeah. Our club has gone through some changes since the curmudgeon who used to manage the range (and who has the FFL) retired to a life of hunting. So for the moment, we don't have a club FFL. Some of us do our own big orders of one thing or another now and then, but I don't think any of them are happening at the moment.

If there is a club hosting a major trap, skeet or sporting clays shoot in your area, there is usually several dealers selling componets cheap. You can stock up at that time. Check the ATA or NSSA web sites for shoots.

Sportsmans Warehouse has about the best prices I've been able to find.

yep, what he said
then I saw you don't have a nice SW near you.
I woudl try a gander or someone else big. Gander has a bunch of stuff, not as cheap as SW, but not bad.
or someone else like that.

otherwise, split a huge order with someone so the $20 doesn't whack you too bad.

I get mine at PGC, which doesn't do you much good, Bear. However, I have gotten stuff from Ballistic Products, Precision Reloading and Midway at good prices and good service.

HTH....
