Other than installing the extra die to insure alignment, the only way to reduce slop built into the manufacture of a shell plate would be a custom cut shell plate.
It is a lot like the issue that Hornady had with loading .45ACP. They originally recommended using the same shell plate (#1) as used the 30'06. The additional slop was unacceptable to reloaders, which forced Hornady to introduce the #45 shellplate.
