I have always used dry powder graphite for my primming operations.

I saw at my local industrial supply house cans of crc dry moly lube spray.

Has anyone used these type sprays., if so are they safe to use in a primming system. I don't want to kill primers using wrong lube.

I will not be luring the tubes, I will only lube the shuttle that picks up and delivers the primer and the channel said shuttle rides in.

Just a dash of powdered graphite on all four sides of the Primer Slide (D550) has been effective. If you're having hiccups with your shuttle (primers turning sideways/upside down/jumping out), provide a make/model for solid solutions.

I am having issues with the shuttles on my rl1000 (yes rl1000 is correct) gumming up and not feeding correctly. I have kept the channel and shuttle cleaned with break cleaner and lubed heavy with graphite but issues still exist. I think a new lube will fix this because a clean surface can't get any cleaner.

Isn’t the RL1000 a stainless base? I don’t lube the RL or Super slides and they are cast iron.

“Nothing” gums up less than many lubes combined with debris.

What did Dillon have to say about it when you called to ask...?......;)

Well they generally laugh and deny the machine exist and there is nothing they can do....... there is one sales person I deal with who actually understands the machine and does not say "we don't have any parts". Dillon today is not the Dillon of Mike's creation, still good but you can get blown off very easily with sales and service.

When I first bought my gaggle of rl1000s I called the tech support and the guy literally said after I described my issues "have you considered just buying a 1050"?

I sent in 78 clear plastic primer pickup tubes from the early 80s and Dillon warranted them so it's not all bad.

I do not think there is any "magic" lube needed. The graphite should work or any of the Teflon based lubes. Should only require a teeny tiny amount.
If they are anything like the Hornadys, just polish them with some Flitz and or coat with a little lube let dry.

A few photos of the RL1000 primer assy may help the panel as many are unfamiliar with it. Some complexity as I recall. I've smoothed primer delivery by polishing (2000 sandpaper) the shuttle and housing it rides through...plus a touch of graphite and it glides nicely.
