Printing with a 6 shot vs 5 shot.

The 6-shot 38Spl CA is same dimensions as a 44 Spl CA Bulldog IIRC. Same frame, same cylinder as the 44 and 357. So experiences/threads with the Magpug/Bulldog are worth exploring due to similarities.

I owned and carried their 4.2" 357 Mag (same cylinder thickness as their 6-shot 38) for a year. While noticably thicker compared to their 5-shot I don't think it prints much different than the 5-shot 38 did when using similar grips.
I found the grips played the largest role in printing.

I own a CA Underdover 38spl. It is a favorite of mine. Shoots fantastic and conceals easy. Conceals so easy I got rid of a NAA mini revolver because of it. Stainless resists rust from sweat very well compared to other CC guns I have like a Taurus 85 and Beretta Tomcat. Huge fan of the skinny wood grips. Typical carry method is AIWB with a DeSantis Pocket Tuk.

I think weight should also be a consideration between the five and six shot varieties. The 6 shot is of similar weight to a Taurus 85 (My first ccw) and their 357 variety. Between the 85 and Undercover, the UC is much easier to carry mostly due to being lighter in weight. Those ounces really do matter IMO... especially several hours into the day. Your attire will stay sharper looking longer and with less effort with lesser weight.

As others have said, the public does not see much of anything. I carry every day, most of the time a Glock 30 or a Charter Arms Bulldog. Sometime when working a Ruger Blackhawk. In 60 years of carrying I have never had anyone question me on whether I was armed.
