Pro-Gun celebs?

This country has a huge problem with the phenomenon of celebrity worship. Frankly, some of us just don't care who's sleeping with who, or who believes what, since 99.999% of the time, it has zero affect on our lives. Did Kobe do it? Did Blake kill her? Is Michael a gay child-abuser? Does Kurt like guns? It's all just mindless, idiotic crap to keep our minds off of the real problems of the world.

While I do agree with you that the whole celebrity is sickening, we all waste a lot of time on things that are distracting us from the real problems of the world.
My guns (along with this board) are "distractions" for me.

Most hollywood types are out in left field and don't care for them. They need to face reality. Cant stand them.

Little bitter as I am pesonally dealing with a certain Hollywood actress that is csusing me many problems and destroyed my project with her liberal ideology and mis-managment and hiring practices.

Actors and Actresses are all just make believe and make me sick. We would be much better off witout TV and Movies.

Shannon Dougherty (sic?), perhaps? :p :D

Yes, Sarah Michelle Gellar is pro gun. I read a piece on the internet a few months ago, where she talked about growing up around guns, and shooting as a young child. Go, Sarah! Cute girls who like guns are like a double bonus!

Gerald McRaney should also be on that list...he's done many pro-gun pieces, and narrated many military and gun related programs.

Mel Torme is deceased now, but he had one of the biggest and most extensive collection of Colt SAA pistols in existence.

I've heard James Earl Jones owns 1911's and shoots IPSC or IPDA or somesuch alphabet soup course.

I've heard also that Charles Barkley and Kareem Abdul Jabar (formerly Lew Alcindor) own and shoot.

Regards,
Rabbit.

Was watching a episode about End of Trail on Shooting USA or the like a while back and was stunned to see Kareem, decked out in full cowboy regalia, praising SASS and the cowboy lifestyle.

Darn near broke a toe from my jaw hitting the ground...

Steven Spielberg might have a bunch of guns but that doesn't necessarily make him pro-gun. I remember reading THIS over at TFL a couple of years ago. I don't know, maybe it doesn't make him anti-gun, maybe just politically correct.

I didn't see the late Buddy Hackett on the list. He was very pro and I remember him telling Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show about a rare Colt single action he acquired for his collection. He didn't leave any doubt about his beliefs.

FWIW, Steven Segal is interesting. I had very limited contact with him many years back working security for a film he was shooting in Alaska. He seemed very pro gun and pro law enforcement. He carried a full size Government 45 most of the time he was in our area. When handling his and our guns he was very competent. He obviously dramatizes his gun handling on camera but off camera he was a normal guy gun wise. Out in bear country he packed an H&K semi 12 gauge. It was a very appropriate choice. He didn't seem to be a real publicity hound so I can understand why he isn't on a soap box for gun rights

I read somewhere than Harry Connick Jr. was into guns and shooting and was an NRA member. Could this be true? I really like his music. I can't remember where I read this info. Can anyone confirm?

Heh - Steven Segal - he just has the wrong bent... rofl.

his latest films have been more about conservation and the enviornment... seems like a soap box for him.

Prolly just hard to make a movie about RKBA =)

Specially in a hollywood that LOVES GUNS - in the script.... but haaateeesss them... out of it. =) Anyone ever wonder how the "avg" blue states migrated to the coasts...?? i know there are "blue" people in the midwest mid north mid south and mid wherever.... (and judging by actuall numbers/graphs... very close to the <rofl> "red" people) but how did the coasts get SO so "blue" rofl =) Just wierd they can count on the west... and the NE to be blue... almost every time... wierd....(vs. those "battle" states... that could go either way - and depends on which election which states those are...rofl)

<shrug> the one poster who made a point to point out that what "celebs" do w/ thier lives could have more to do w/ us than the sludge in our catch drains under the sink... has it more on target.....

I'll never understand caring who is married to who... or who is leaving who... or hell - who is banging thier fan's young son's... except so much as it comes down to "he/she's famous" so they get away w/ it.

Football player gets caught w/ drugs... i wanna see them get just as witch slapped as i would if the cops came to my house and found an eight ball on my dining room table....

(sports/movie/tv/whatever)

never understand how its different.... not talking simpson/blake/jackson - talking kelsey grammar, pot boy Lett here in texas... etc... Hell - I got more for my DWI than Kelsey did.. and i didn't wreck a )(*&*&^(*& car... rofl (let alone the witch slap i'd have to give him for wrecking a perfectly good viper....)

<shrug>

just funny how it works.. =)

sigh

J/Tharg!

just a foot note

the list i posted from 2a sisters stated the these folks had done something for the 2a movement not just stated that they were pro gun. hod to speak at a rally or raised fund etc.

The key to the whole celebrity thing is simply remembering that they are doing a job. Mel Gibson is a talented individual, but his skill at acting/directing makes him no more or less special than anyone else.

One thing I have admired about Tom Selleck is that, many years ago, I met him jogging on a beach in Florida. I recognized him right away, but didn't act any different. We chatted for a moment, exchanged pleasantries, and went our seperate ways. Didn't ask for an autograph, didn't even talk about what he did for a living. He was alone, out jogging on a beach, without bodyguards, publicists, make up, fancy clothing or anything. A t-shirt, shorts, shoes, and a hat. Didn't act like anyone special, and apparently didn't expect to be treated any differently.

"Arnold Schwarznegger- Actor" Pro gun? After banning the ownership or transfer of any new .50BMG rifles in California? (Cops and crooks excepted, as always.)

Once more on this one. I do not feel any better about my Right to Keep and Bear Arms here in California since Schwarznegger took office...

i saw a picture of angenlina jolie with a tight shirt that had a dragunov on it. Now that doesnt say much about her gun views....but, the picture was worth

not all, buddy. I'm an actor, I live in Hollywood, own guns and I'm NRA. Don't believe in the stereotypes of Hollywood, because you don't know the real story. :neener:
