Hey Guys,

Been looking @ these off & on for some while now.
Most of the reviews are decent. Yet, I've heard a few old timers say some hateful things about Pro Mag in general!

What has been your experience with "Pro Mag" in regards to the 9mm Shield?
I have one for my CANIK TP9SF that is "almost like OEM!";)
I have a few extra 8 rd mags, but I wouldn't mind stepping up a couple of rounds. I also see there are some optional base plates out there that add up to 4 extra rounds!

Hmmm...

I usually say pro mag is good for practicing malfunction clearances only. However you really never know. I got some polymer pro mags in a package deal with my SCAR-17 and they’ve been 100%. If you want to try it and it’s worth the gamble to you.... *shrug*

I wouldn’t use them for carry or other serious use.

Hey great feedback.
Range use and plinking deep in the country @ my Dad's farm...that is all.

NO everyday carry or home defense duty.
I went ahead and made a move on this instead.
$21.00 is ok with me.

Magguts sells a plus 2 extension for the Shield, which adds very little to the length of the magazine. They’ve worked perfectly in mine.

My forays into after-market mags for auto pistols haven't been good. ProMags and ETS are both great for when I want to practice clearing malfunctions without manually inducing them.

Some 10+ years ago when I was in Afghanistan I remember posting on this forum that if ProMag airdropped its products to the Tailban they'd have been doing US forces a favor.

Good Lord, that is ugly. Takes away from the whole point of the gun, concealed carry. If you’re gonna use it as a back-up mag then I would advise against it. Pro-Mag does not have a good reputation. I guess they’re ok for range use, but not for serious carry.
Mag Guts makes a kit that turns an 8 round Shield mag into a 10 round mag, while adding very little size to the 8 round mag. Same capacity as the Pro Mag with smaller size and a much better reputation.

I have a Shield. Never even use my 8 round mags. For me, size and weight matter big time for carry.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Here is the purpose of my post:
