Pro-Tec Helmets

If you're referring to the helmets the Delta operators wore in the Blackhawk Down movies, I was under the impression they were plumbed for all the audio gear, among other things.

In their respective operational environments both they and NSW personnel are more concerned with smackin' their noggins against the steel bulkhead of transport while runnin' full speed than they are with ballistic protection. I understand though that there are much lighter, ballistically efficient and impact resistant kevlar head gear in the pipeline.

Skunk, are you on a quest for the carbon fiber hockey helmet? :neener: You should concentrate on the tactical/practical banjo!

Yep. I found a carbon fiber Pro-Tec! :D I just wanted to make sure it was mil-spec carbon fiber ;)

I also found a carbon fiber fritz helmet!

Skunk, Protec skate helmets (distributed by an outfit in N.Y.C.) are different than ProTec Armor helmets (made by an outfit in Mass). They are 2 different companies. I do business with both. I found it amusing that both companies put out helmets under similar names.

In any case, don't confuse the board helmets with the armor ones.

The hockey helmets look a lot more like their helmets than the tactical ones...now I'm

Skunk, some Delta Force units still use the Protech helmets in some situations, but they use the various Gallet (MICH) /TC2000/2001/2002 helmets more often due to their light weight and better ballistic protection..;)

Here's the Gallet (MICH) TC2000..
