I can't get the scope foward enough to put my shoulder on the stock. I have the rings and the scope mounted all the way foward but when I mount the gun, my shoulder is a good 1" from the stock. I can try to shift around, but it's weird and not natural.

Any help.

Larue tactical makes risers that extend out past the rails. You might try that. Also, you could always buy a free floating handguard with rails and move it to that if you wanted to. I would go with the Larue riser though.

Thanks for all the responses. The extended scope rings is what I need. I like the larue, but I don't have 200.00 for rings.

Any other options out there?

Are you saying that the length of pull is too short? I'm having trouble visualizing the problem.

If the problem is short length of pull, you can get an adjustable (M4 style) stock and extend it to put the scope further away from you.

Model 1 Sales offers two mounts that appear to be offset at the following link. I'd be sure to ask before ordering if they are offset, but pictures look like they are:

YHM 1/2'' Riser Mount $33.00

One piece scope mount with built-in 1'' rings $65.00

Is the upper an A2 with handle, or A3 flat-top?

If it's an A2 w/ handle, I have a cantilever mount that will do what you need it to do.

Thanks for the additional responses. I like the offset 1 piece scope rings as opposed to the riser, cause it will allow me to still use my carry handle from time to time.

Just to clarify the problem for those who have been following --- I have a flattop reciever. When I mount my scope I have the rings and scope pushed as far foward as I can. But to get the proper eye relief I need to move my cheek back on the stock soo far that my sholder no longer comes in contact with the butt of the stock. I can't get a good/consistant mount.
To be specific it only affects me when I'm in prone, not so much off the bench or and not off hand at all.

Thanks again.

I use the B-Square one piece which appears similar to the Armilite. I believe it is about $70 through midway or the other mail order joints.
With my C&R it is quite a bit less

I have several with different scopes (from low power compact to a 6X20 monster.
If you keep track of which slot it will hold a near zero as you swap back and forth with the irons

Update -

Update- OK I took a different approach. I bought a 1" stock extention and a 3/4" recoil pad. This was cheaper than any of the scope bases, and I don't have to re-zero my gun. On the other hand I now have a dedicated bench or prone gun as the extra length does not work well with the HBAR iron sights or from a standing off hand position. I'm not sure how I feel about this at the moment, but I'll worry about it later. Maybe I just need a second AR for that purpose.
