Problems with RCBS TrimMate chamfer and debur!

I am having some issues with the RCBS trimmate. I have found that I am having to use my hand held chamfer and debur tool to properly prep my cases. The debur tool that comes with the trimmate is useless, though I did see a thread where someone attached the handheld debur to the machine one with some duct tape. That might do ok, but the chamfer is also near useless, I was still getting bullet scrapings along the mouth when I just used the machine chamfer.

Has anyone tried the VLD RCBS chamfer head on the trim mate?

Any ideas?

The machine makes it very easy to clean and uniform the prime pockets, and I added a flash hole debur tool which does fine.

I had the Lyman hand held kit before I I got the RCBS case prep center, anything I can attach to a cleaning I can install on the case prep center, the threads on the RCBS green handle hand held tools will also fit, I have not had a problem with the tool.

The trim mate itself works fine. I do like it, but the chamfer and debur tools that came with it produce seriously sub-par results compared to my handheld RCBS tool.
It seems that the chamfer has a VERY small angle on it, is your chamfer angle the same as the standard handheld RCBS chamfer? If so i will contact RCBS, but the tool doesn't seem to be damaged or not functioning, it just isn't the right angle for me.

I bet if you call RCBS and tell them, they will send you new attachments. I have one and it works just fine for me. Beats hand held anyday.1-800-533-5000

I purchased the RCBS VLD chamfer tool, and it works better than standard Trim Mate chamfer tool. It seems sharper and works faster.

I have a trim mate, and yes the VLD will fit. I love my trimmate. Deburrs very well and have deburred many thousands. Sounds like you have another problem. May be dull chamfer tools?
