I have shot all types of ammo in my Kimber classic stainless target , thousands of reload with only a few hang ups during break in. Love this pistol. So I bought a Kimber ultra+cdpII. I have not one hang up with factory ammo, but can't seem to find a bullet that will feed fully into the chamber with reloads i've tried different magazines, that's not it. Any commits, my dealer says it was not built to shot anything other than factory ball ammo.

What are your load details?

Bullet weight & type?
OAL length?
Case neck OD measurement after taper crimping?

As for the dealers comment?
Thats BS!

A reload is no different then a factory load if you load it just like a factory load.
A gun has no way of knowing what is in the magazine or chamber.

It probably has a short leade, or chamber throat. Make a dummy round and just keep seating the bullet shorter until it will chamber fully. That will tell you what OAL your pistol likes with that bullet. Then you can work up your load with that OAL in mind.

Hope this helps.

Mine will feed many other designs than FMJ RN. What bullets have you tried at what OAL.

Also, follow Fred's advise and do the plunk test on your barrel with the bullets you are using.

Now you tell me, I've been shooting reloads thru mine for years and now I find out they weren't working. Anybody want to buy a Kimber 10mm that won't shoot anything but factory ammo?

My UCII likes a short OAL 1.235" vs the std 1.250". It does have very short leads as mentioned above, so the shorter OAL works. Mine does shoot every thing though, RN, HP, SWC without any problems. I did find out that the RS pack drops down to 14# after 1500 rounds. So I swap out the RS assembly for a newly rebuilt one every 1500 rounds.

Do the plunk test to see what OAL your like.

I'll trade you for something that will shoot you reloads, but it will be a .45acp.

Sent from my SCH-I545L using Forum Fiend v1.2.7.

I heard an LGS guy say the same exact thing to a customer having cycling problems. I chuckled to myself.

Yes, some pistols may have a sharper feed angle, short ramp, ect, but if they will cycle factory ammo, it will most definitely cycle a reload that is properly tailored to it's idiosyncrasies.

In more than 30 yrs. or reloading for countless firearms, I've yet to run across one that won't reliably cycle what I load.

Time for OP to change to a cleaner burning powder. I had the same problem with my Kimber UCC II in that it would not go all the way into battery due to powder residue hanging up the case in a rather tight chamber.

Would be nice to hear from the OP again. Where ya at babyk?
