Time to replace my ProChrono, I got a bit rough with the battery connection and my soldering attempts have it on life support for the time being. I am staying with Competition Electronics, I am very satisfied with this chronograph I am just trying to decide if the Bluetooth function is worth upgrading to or if I should just get another non Bluetooth model. My pen and notebook has served me well to this point but the Bluetooth app seems pretty neat. For those that went from the standard chrono to a Bluetooth one was it worth doing? Thank you, Darrin.

Get the ProChronoDLX. Period.
The price difference is negligible.

If the 9v snap on connector is all that’s wrong, order a new one. Seems like a very easy repair.

I got a free Caldwell chrono that someone put a bullet through and had quit working. When I opened it, I found that except for the bullet holes in the plastic, the only damage was a broken wire which I fixed.

There was an app you could connect to it and log your shots. I found it to be quite useful but ended up giving the chrono to a friend as I already have an Oehler with the printer.

I was looking at their website and saw that as an option for current products. It looks like the retired stuff, which my model is, doesn’t qualify for that service. I tried gaining access to the lead 9volt connection and replace it like drband suggested but it looks like that’s a no go as the access point to the battery compartment is molded and not pressed in.

I have decided to give the Bluetooth version a try, I can’t imagine being disappointed by it.

Good choice! The App is pretty useful. It can give you your stats, create a graph, attach a picture of the group, record weather data, and its all accessible on your phone.

Plus, if the range is crowded you can work the chrono from the bench. I can't see how you won't enjoy it.

Midway has it on sale.
You will like it. I have had mine for a year and a half. (had the previous model for decades). I just run it in remote mode, and it works better than my old one.

The only "issue" I have with my DLX is if my phone is laying flat it sometimes disconnects, so I prop it up against my insulted drink bottle. Also makes it so I can see it with a glance, except for that one day I had it too close to the muzzle brake. LOL
