Has anyone else ever feeled like friend and/ or family members were profiling you?

My 7 year ago nephew said ,"He always has his little gun with him."

A friend's son (a 8 year ago)," He's like a cop." When asked why I have a German Shepherd

In the event of an invesion, I'm going to your house, there's plenty of ammo." by a gun store owner

A another family member, " He has all of them." When asked what kind of guns I owned.

ALL the time for me K r. At the company I work for, 4 grain elevators, with about 35 employes,over half have made some coments of this sort about me. Many, many times. Espically the comment about having so much ammo. And really I don't talk about owning this and that about guns. I guess it's because I shoot alot near one of the elevators.

We've got friends and family that say the same thing about us. Some family members are probably intimidated by what you own and some aren't. Seeing as how half of my family are country folk they really like my collection.

One thing I'd caution about is the kids. They have big mouths, and often at inopportune times and with inopportune people. It's not those kids in particular (I've never met them), it's kids in general.

Other than that, You sound perfectly normal. Of course some would argue that my interperetation of "normal" is a bit skewed. Or skewered.

About the ammo. Something I learned in the service. The amount of ammo available to you is inversely proportional to the amount of ammo you need. Mo' is betta.

I agree both times, I was shocked. I also promised the eight year to take him shooting sometime, that boy reminders me when he sees me. His mind is like a tape recorder.

When that gun store when it went out of bussiness in 2002, I bought all the ammo he had in my rifles and pistols and spend <$200.

I get profiled but not for gun association. For some reason everybody hates teenagers. And to whoever said kids say the wrong thing to the wrong person is right, very very right.

That was said at a presentation full of my colleagues … to a co-worker sitting one row in front of me. I just smiled.

I won’t hide my gun ownership, but I don’t advertise it. My real name has also appeared in print several times in defense of the right to arms. So far, no one that I know seems to have noticed.

I was struck from a jury one time for owning guns and being in the NRA because I would be friendly to the suspect who shot at an intruder on his property and was in violation of his posted signs. It was funny...
