Greetings,

I am attempting to reduce the length of pull of an Imbel FAL to 10.5". As is, the FAL's LOP is greater than the M16A2's.

So far I have replaced the standard recoil system a Para's. I'll be cutting several inches off the recoil tube and brazing the ends back together.

The main obstacle seems to be modifying the synthetic fixed stock. I need a way to attach the recoil tube screw back into the modified recoil tube to hold the stock on. Also, the back of the buttstock/toe would be to short to shoulder comfortably.

I have thought of 2 options:

1. Using JB Weld to join the end of the buttstock to the rest of the modified stock, and using bondo to blend the differing heights of the buttstock together.

2. Attaching an AR15 short stock to the FAL.

Any ideas?

All suggestions appreciated!

Maybe you could do a little research on whether the BRITISH or any of the other users of the FN or FAL , made a stock for SMALLER STATURE users. It was done for the LEE ENFIELD maybe it was done for the FN/FAL. Worth a look in a FN/FAL FORUM somewhere. GOOD LUCK.

I ended up doing option one and it has turned out very well.

Thanks for the input.

It sure was. The C1A1 came with short, normal, long and extra long. However, the chances of you finding one are slim.
