Anyone got a good resource for discussions on proper shooting stance / grip....? I'd like to do some reading on the subject. Also, a good DVD may be good info as well.
Thanks!
A picture is worth a thousand words, but a video is worth even more. There are some online videos of some of the greats in the competitive shooting world giving pointers, and plenty of videos available from instructors at places like Dillon Precision, and Brian Enos.
If you shooting in self defense any stance and grip that hitting BG I would say is proper. Good stance and grip fine on range, but in for real you best not be standing still. Better be moving. Paper targets don't shoot back BG just might.
I was thinking about this today, on my third trip to the range. I was also wondering if I could hit the target with the gun in my left hand, and did, at 6 yards. Beretta 21a, .22LR
With the modern technique, the stationary stances are just the foundation blocks. Once you have them down, you can use them while moving, clearing rooms etc.
