Pro's & Con's of 350 Legend

I am thinking of either buying a rifle in 350 Legend or having a 223 H&R Handi-Rifle rechambeded to 300 Legend.
What's the pro's & con's or reloading for this round.

I might not be interested in this round but I definitely like the idea of it as it expands common use of the AR15 family of rifles and it will likely be well supported by Winchester too so that's a plus. I would probably prefer a 500 automax from Bighorn armory or, better yet, their lever action 500 S&W magnum (drools). But I'm sure the 350 legend will fall into a more comfortable price point than either of those rifles. It seems like a great round for what it was designed for.

I'm in a cartridge restricted state, but I haven't hunted enough in recent years to justify buying a rifle chambered in a straight-wall cartridge to replace my muzzleloader. I've been considering getting one anyway, though.

Most of the info I've read on the 350 Legend hasn't impressed me. In fact, the only thing that got me interested initially was the availability of cheap range ammo. Those days have gone, and reloading mitigates the price difference anyway. If I'm limiting myself to something that's only hitting about 2000fps, I'd rather have a bigger hole.

Unless I was shooting it in a suppressed AR...I could see it being somewhat useful in that regard.

Well yeah, I should have said that there are so many better options in non-restricted states. That doesn't mean I wouldn't like it and find something I could do with it.

And if he's just fishing for an excuse to add another rifle, then ignore everything else I said.
It's the best caliber ever and your soul will never be at ease until you own one.

I got a call back today, he left a message. $250 to rebore my H&R Handi-Rifle 223 barrel over to 350 Legend.
I'll call him back and go over the details.
I couldn't buy another rifle in 350 Legend that cheap and I like using the H&R 243 Handi-Rifle for deer hunting.
I think I'll start picking up some ammo, bullets, dies and maybe some brass.
