Good Day:

I was perusing the PSA website for a new AR upper and saw something called the "CHF". What the heck does "CHF" stand for? And what does the "CHF" bring to the table?

Also, has anyone developed opinions on the PTAC uppers? I actually have one (a carbine length) and it has been surprisingly good, very accurate. But that's just one upper in many and I've heard some bad things about PTAC. I'd like to know about someone else's PERSONAL experience with a PTAC upper. Any thoughts? Thanks!!!!

CHF = Cold Hammer Forged

Haven't tried any of the PTAC stuff, but the PSA premium is good stuff. Accurate and reliable.

I believe the CHF barrels are the ones made by FN as well.

I have a PTac 1:9 middy upper and it has been great. I have put close to 1k steel cased rounds through mine without issue. I bought it to be a cheap plinker and it fits that role perfectly.
