Ok I just finished my build from PSA I have a ptac lower and pa10 18" ss upper. My issue now is that when I took her to the range when I would run the bolt the round would seat but bolt would be about 1/4 to 1/2" out of battery and not attached to the round... I am thinking it might be a problem with a not strong enough buffer or buffer spring. I have a PSR stock instaled but lower parts kit from psa came with a carbine stock kit... do I need a new budder and spring or is it something else?

I tried using my ar15 rifle length buffer spring and buffer and it still did not work...

I think on ar15 in the psa forum they have pictures of the spring buffer combo you need. Some were shipped with the wrong buffer spring buffer combo.

Did you use an AR 15 buffer and spring? The .308 AR parts are the same diameter, but not the same weights. Sounds to me like the spring isn't strong enough to force the extractor over the rim after returning the BCG and stripping a round.

It was the pa10 lower parts kit and it came with a milspec carbine buffer tube and spring. I am now using it in a full length tube housed inside a Magpul PRS stock

There's your problem. Rifle tubes need rifle buffers and springs.

The PSA tested kit contains an H buffer, carbine tube, and 27-coil spring, roughly 12" long.

Check the front of the buffer tube hoop on the upper. You probably have a little bit of damage from the BCG hitting it, since you are using a rifle tube with a carbine buffer.

If you are using a rifle tube, you need a rifle buffer and a 308 rifle spring. Or you can stick with a carbine tube.

I am not an expert in AR building, but if I was in your shoes, those are what I would try. If you get them and they work, let us know. I have been thinking about going with a rifle stock.

I have been sticking with the carbine buffer, at least until I get the rifle's issues worked out.

I have a DPMS LR 308 that originally came with a carbine stock and heavier / shorter (than a 5.56 ) buffer for 308. I changed to a rifle stock and buffer without any difficulties in functioning however Recoil is a great deal lighter than before.
