my girlfriend was just telling me about one she saw in one of our local gunshops. i've been wanting to buy a Raven .25 for awhile; it was my first gun, and i liked mine a lot. she saw one behind the counter, and asked the shopkeeper about it, but he instead suggested the gun next to it, which was the PSP Baby Browning. he claimed they are as good as the original Baby Brownings, and worlds ahead of the Raven in terms of quality (and price, as well). the Raven was going for about $100, the PSP was $200. he was selling it with the original box, extra mag, and pocket holster.

are these guns any good, and would one in NIB condition be worth $200?

Yes and yes. Might even be worth $250+ down the road sometime. ;)

Seriously a good value. The PSP and Bauer clones of the Browning/Colt are pretty good dinky little guns. For a dinky little gun, and they are small, they're pretty well built. Light years ahead of a Raven. Box, extra mag and holster???

Here's hoping GF purchases said PSP.

Only issue I had with mine was the one finger grip... we're talking dinky, and I don't have big hands.

i stopped in another gun shop, owned by a friend, and had him take a look in his gun "Blue Book"; he confirmed everything that was said here. she put a few dollars down it, and we'll be taking it home in week or so. now to buy ammo and a newer holster for it. any suggestions?

having recently picked up a browning, baby browning, I have a few suggestions.

Mine is from 1964 and I had no issues firing fiocchi 6.35 round nose. It is in a red box and says browning right on the box. I've fired over two boxes of this through this gun without any issues whatsoever. I also heard that european 25 acp Ammo is hotter than most American manufactured 25 acp. Better penetration.

For holsters, the uncle mike's size 1 pocket holster works pretty well. Also a company called triple k holsters (very odd name) makes a leather pocket holster specifically for the baby browning. I've ordered one, but have yet to receive it. Bought it from cowboy supply company or something like that for 27 dollars.

Good luck and enjoy!

Whew. Was worried for a second. ;)

Good to know GF is making the purchase. Here's hoping she loves it and shoots it well.

Whatever you do, don't ever let her see or fondle a cute little Colt Govt in .380 next to a 1911... cause those things can be pricey.

LOL, she's already got a Springfield GI .45; the next gun on her wishlist is a Kimber ProCarry compact.

well, picked it up yesterday. i shot off about 10 rounds of some cheap steel cased Blazer, just to check function. no hiccups. i'll take it out to the range this weekend for some accuracy shooting....from about 20'. LOL

here it is, next to my Taurus:
