I recently got a Taurus PT145 pro, from my brother. He got it years ago, but decided that the mag fell out too much for him,so he just gave it to me(or i kind of took it). anyways, after about 600 rounds, had numerous misfires, but no mag drops. but while cleaning the gun, my slide got stuck. after i got it back and took it off, the slide spring came off, and i connector pin would not go in. anyways, i read the thread on highroad and found out how to field strip it completely. i put the slide spring back, but now the my safety is broken.

The guns safety, does not stay up. when the gun is ready, and i flip up the safety it just comes back down. i need help?? please!!! i want to fix it myself, since i already feel like an expert with all these researching...

just in case you cant get it fixed - Taurus gives a warranty on all their guns i believe, send it back to them to be repaired for free. my brother purchased a Taurus 357 that had problems getting the cylinder to rotate out, he sent it to them and 3 weeks later back god as new no charge, and he purchased the gun used!

i got it fixed. Took out the "frame" part 4.1, after putting in the slide spring with a "baby" screwdriver, I was about to put it in, when the safety came out of place and the safety spring and safety ball spring, came loose and i lost the ball that holds the safety in place when on and off. I only realized that the safety ball thing, came loose after looking in the inside on the safety lever to see, two little dipples... I realized that was how the safety stayed in place. the spring in the trigger frame, putting pressure on the spring ball that is pressed against two dipples inside the safety lever. I figured that out as i was talking to the cc from taurus. they do have good service, he shipping parts to me for free. if i send it in it be 20 to ship, and he first quoted me price of 1 dollar per part, and they just said, he will send it for free, and said a pleasant goodbye. now i gotta put it in. hope to maybe slide in the parts with a razerblade??? but solved, maybe that will help

Glad to hear you got it back together! Also good to hear that Taurus is standing behind their product and craftsmanship!
