dissasembled my ptr and now cant get it back together never had a problem before bolt head is stuck to the carrier cant even dissasemble it and the rollers are in the out position prohibiting me from sliding it back into the reciever any help in resolving this would be great

The springs on the G3 bolt carrier retention lever are so strong that it is easy to push the bolt head down too far. That is what has happened to you.

PTR made a bolt carrier tool, but I don't see it on their site anymore. The tool holds down that lever on the carrier (I don't know the name) that holds the bolt head in place.

Before I purchased the PTR carrier tool, I had to use my "quick grip" clamp to push the roller lugs back into the bolt head. The locking piece inside the bolt head has an inclined surface. Pushing the roller lugs down onto the cam surface will force the bolt head forward. Once forward you can rotate to its proper location with the lugs retracted.

I used my quick grip clamp because 1) I have one, 2) the jaws are padded, and 3) it had enough leverage to force the roller lugs down.

I got my quick clamp at Home Depot.

There are some real excellent videos on how to assembly the G3 bolt on this site.

Locking the bolt head by accident is pretty standard with new HK owners.

Just rotate the bolt head to unlock the lever, extend the bolt head, and rotate back.

There are some "how to"s on MG42.net and other places.
