Well I cut out of the last speaker of the meeting (like i'm going to go back to hear one last speaker after dinner) and got up to the range about 7:30. Very nice facility, and friendly helpful staff. They let me just pay the $25 rental fee once and then switch guns sa much as I wanted, buying only ammo. First tried out a 3" L-frame .357, then a standard type 1911 and a $2000 custom shop 1911 which did shoot quite a bit nicer than the standard one, and then a single-stack Tactical 9. I actually didn't realize how many different guns S&W produce, anf I was very impressed by the Tactical 9. Unfortunately I walked right by the display by the door. At any rate, it was a nice break from work, thanks agian for the advice.
