Anyone ever use the pulled bullets American reloading sells, I'm looking at the 270cal 500ct for $80. I know there a mix of weight and types but maybe a good way to try a few bullets in my rifle if there's enough to do some load testing.

These will be for hunting and practice.

I would think it is
I'm still debating if it worth it, I can get some hornadys for about $35-100 and there a sure thing. But these I can pick thru what I can use and give away what I can't use, I don't know if this model 70 will shoot 150s. I don't see any mono bullets in the picture.

I have used some pulled bullets that work as well as those bought new.

I have used other pulls that throw patterns that could be measured in feet.

(Not directed at any particular company/supplier. Just sharing my experience in general).

You pays your money and you takes your chances. I would recommend buying a smaller quantity to try out before placing a large order... if you think they will still be available. Always a hazard these days.

I've always had good luck with pulled bullets, even some narly looking ones used to fireform. The ones in the picture look about perfect to me. I believe 500 ct is all thats available.

I have ordered pulled bullets from several sources in the past. The advice of purchasing a small quantity first is good. One time I got some 9MM bullets that had been taper crimped so much they just fell into the sized case. No guesses why those were offered as pulled bullets. The vendor did eventually refund my money though. Mostly my experiences have been really good for gettimg inexpensive fair quality bullets.

I got a batch of their 308 premium mixed. That was a mistake. So many different weights and styles of bullets. Just a mess.

However, I also ordered some 308 168 SMKs and they are good to go. A trip through the media tumbler with some Flitz cleaned them up to my satisfaction.

That's my worry, I only have one 270 if they were 6.5-7mm or 30cal I could use them for other rounds.

My experience- it's a bit of a gamble, but not a bad bet.

For the price, I've usually been happy.

Almost no incorrect caliber bullets in what I received.

I did get one batch of 230gr plated .45acp pulls which had been so badly crushed (as FROGO207 said) that some of them fell into the sized case. They averaged .448".
I never returned those or complained-- I just shot what I could load for warm-ups and threw the rest into the pot for cast bullets.

Also, the one batch of 9mm 'premium mix' was a nightmare --ditto what DanK3pos says-- in a 500 count, I got 63 different bullet styles- like 13 of one, 7 of these, 22 of another...yergh.

ETA: they were in good shape, just a lot of different varieties. They do warn you about that.

Everything else- 9mm, .45, and .223 mostly, has been fine.
I'm currently working my way through a couple thousand 9mm 124gr plated pulls I got from them just a few months ago- almost perfect, for around .08 each delivered.

That's pretty good deal.
