Well the Whitetail season is upon us. Many folks who have not picked up a rifle in a long time are going to ranges all over the place. Most of the shooters will be safe. Some will do some boneheaded things. I really hate it when people don't listen when I say move behind the painted line and don't go near any firearm during a "cease fire". What is so hard about keeping the muzzle pointed down range. Please case your firearm before leaving your point.
Please remember to bring your "eyes and ears" as the range requires you to use them. I can't let you shoot without them. You also might think of trying to boresight your rifle instead of letting rounds go all over the place.
Please don't walk away from the line with your firearm to have someone take a look at it unless you case the damn thing. Oh. please open the action and clear your firearm when I call a cease fire.
Sorry folks but I have pulled range duty two weekends in a row and I have to tell you I am appalled!
Any other folks pulling range duty have any interesting tales to tell? I can't be the only one who was frightened recently!
