I too have a glorious , tang sighted Model 25 Remington in 25-20 . Yes mine is a good 2" at 50 yard gun rested and 4" at 100 yards where it about maxxes out . I cant' think of a better up to small deer gun around a ranch rifle, which was it's purpose. I would rather it be a 32-20 , yes, because I shoot 32-20 in a couple pistols and reload and cast bullets for it. I just bought a 86 grain .25 mold to cast flat nosed bullets :) .
I had many years a .44-40 Remington 14 1/2 Pump and even longer a 141 & a 14 Remington pump in .35 Remington. I sold them off as I literally had folks shoving money in my face for them as they were pristine . The 14 1/2 sold for almost $2000 10 years ago and the other great .35 pumps, which I adored for hunting went for almost a $1000 since 2018 . They had receiver sights and were great deer and hog slayers to 150 yards.
I too wanted a Timber wolf but missed the boat. When they first came out I was worried they looked junky, but time I found they actually worked well the price had sky rocketed , I settled for my Marlin Carbines in .357 and .44 .

Local shop had a Colt replica in .357/.38; don't recall the maker, used, and the thing was dead flat gorgeous.
Let is sit on the shelf, hoping for the price to drop a little (had heard that they could be cranky). Somebody else solved the problem by buying it; still wonder how well it worked.

No small part of the appeal of pistol caliber carbines is the old time look and feel; the Colt repos meet that standard, the Timberwolf, not so much.
In that case, it has to stand on its own merits, rather than nostalgia. Concur with Someguy2800; pretty they aren't. ;)

Uberti, Beretta & Taurus all made copies of the Colt Lightning.
Almost bought a Beretta .45lc pump used at a pawn shop. But priced at close to a grand, and that was a long time ago, when a grand got you more.
Why aren't there more pumps? You can buy a pump action AR yet no reasonably priced pump action tube fed 'sporting' rifles. I've got a few lever actions I use regularly but have always preferred pumps.
There's like a half dozen good options for CHEAP 12 ga. pumps. Let's see a Mossberg Maverick in .357 or .44 for under $500. If you can build an action to pump cycle a 12 ga shell, is a large pistol cartridge any harder?

probably not, my guess is without John Browning to design it, nobody else can make one that works reliably

It won’t sell.

Buyers want ARs and MSRs. Not pump rifles.
