Pedersoli Lightning pump action: the fastest gun in the West | all4shooters

dreaminn of gun purhases I probably won't make any time soon, but anyone have any opinions of this reproduction? or similar models. plan eventually would be to get a rifle that can shoot .357, just as a utility rifle and range toy. I can reload for it, and while I have several family rifles have not ever purchased one that is mine - so to speak.

I'm also kind of torn over some of the lever guns, but think I prefer the pump style action. Anyways, just figured I'd see what opinions were out there. I started reading about the Ruger/Marlin situation, but ended up wandering and thinking some thing like this might be more my thing, but I don't know - no plans to actually buy anytime soon, no real need per say.

Don't be torn between rifles, easy peasy, just buy both of them. I personally and looking at for a 38-55 or a 45/60 both lever actions. I've got plenty of brass for cartridge conversions for both.

Have the Uberti Beretta gold rush in 45 colt, have had no problems, handy fun little carbine. Got a bunch of levers, in different calibers, favorite right now is a slicked up marlin cowboy in 45 colt, close second is a navy arms 1892 in 44 40. First cowboy gun I'd get a lever, probably a marlin. Easy to work on and reliable. The 357 is good choice for all around fun. The week after that I'd be looking for a lightning copy in 45.
Life's is full of options, enjoy.

An oddball characteristic of the pump action Lightning is the action has to be open to load. Closing the action after loading doesn't chamber a round, you must cycle the action again.

I've never handled the Pedersoli version, but I believe it's good. I have the Taurus copy; if you ever see this one, RUN AWAY!!!!!!! RUN FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
