I would like to have a Ruger Mark II with a Pac Lite upper, but I don't want to waste the money on a full gun simply to then throw out the factory barrel/reciever.

Is there anywhere to buy the grip/trigger assembly/etc for a Mark II?

see them on ebay soemtimes, lots of mkI i see there not too many MKII frames. i dont know the difference between the MKI and MKII frame i think just the ability to keep bolt open after last shot, but numrich gun parts sometimes has them also.

Try Ruger

When I was at the Ruger website I found that they sold all the parts to the MKII from springs to barreled receiver. this is from their site:
Grip Frame, Complete AN54000-101 Mark II Target - Blued Models $ 131.25
* Grip Frame, Complete AN54000-102 Mark II Competition, Government - Blued Models 172.00
* Grip Frame, Complete KA54000-100 Mark II Standard - Stainless Models 169.50
* Grip Frame, Complete KA54000-101 Mark II Target - Stainless Models 172.00
* Grip Frame, Complete KA54000-102 Mark II Competition - Stainless Models 211.00

wild billz, yes they sell them, but they're on a 'factory exchange basis only'. In other words, you can't have two at the same time.

Your best bet is to watch ebay or one of the firearm auction sites. They come up from time to time, but they're pretty rare. Someone really needs to start making aftermarket frames, especially since they aren't serial numbered.

Well,if your not too picky you should be able to find a used MKII for under $200.
I want to do exactly the same thing as you.I want a stainless lower w/the paclite fluted 10in receiver/barrel asm.I'm going to wait for the .17machII version.

I want the green one. What color are you looking at?

I'm not too sure yet. I'm thinking about the Green 10" regular-fluted one. I'm not too sure what the difference is between their green and tactical green.

I found an interesting post on the forum specified by that link Mr. Williams, even though it has to do with 22/45 instead of Mark II frames.

I've considered doing this. However, in NC you have to have a pistol permit to purchase a pistol, and I've only got one left and don't feel like applying for another one for a while. Besides, why buy the whole gun if I'm just going to throw away the barrel?

Whitenight?I had another thought. The first time I saw those paclite receivers they were being sold by a local gunsmith @ a show.He was selling them either as a barrel/recvr or as a complete pistol.Maybe you have a local dealer who can set you up?Or mebee an email to the manufacturer to inquire re.local dealers?

On the green? It looked to me like normal green was like Kermit the frog & the other green was almost olive drab-matte finish.

Hmmmm. I was just thinking (uh oh;) )

Ruger seems to have a heck of a rip-off scam going on here. You buy a $275ish pistol, then somehow break/damage/etc the lower half, and then you send them back your gun and pay $150ish for a lower half. Then they keep your original? If you are required to trade in your original, I would hope for much better prices than listed by Wild Bill. On the other hand, if they actually simply sent you that part for the price listed and you could keep your original, that wouldn't be too bad of a deal.
