My New Year's Eve present to my family and myself is a stainless Ruger Mark II with a Tactical Solutions Pac-Lite threaded for a suppressor. After I heard that Ruger was discontinuing the Mark II in favor of the Mark III, I asked my local dealer to find me a stainless Mark II, preferably a KMK-4C, to use with the Pac-Lite upper. After some effort, he found one at a great price, and we picked it up today. We even disassembled the Mark II in the store, so that the Pac-Lite upper could be added.

Unlike some of my other Mark II's, this one came apart with no issues, and I only had to reinsert the mainspring housing once. I guess practice does make perfect -- or, at least, better. Of course, I now have a spare Ruger Mark II upper that I can move to one of our other lowers. On the other hand, I may sell the upper to recoup some of this project's costs. I may install a Volquartsen hammer and trigger like I use on my other Mark II's.

I think the finished pistol looks pretty good, and it balances amazingly well. Due to my wife's medical condition, we did not shoot it today. But we will rectify that issue next week.
