Hi everyone,

I'm going to be putting a new stock (Boyd's At-One) on a 111 Trophy Hunter. I plan on eventually rebarreling it to something thicker than the sporter barrel that come stock.

I talked with Boyd's and they won't just put a bigger barrel profile on the "normal" receiver. So, what stock can I buy now that'll let me throw a bull barrel in it later? 111? 112? 116? Any other thoughts on how to do this?

Gun is a 6.5x284 Norma, 111 with the bottom bolt release.

Thanks!

Dustin

If it was me I'd go ahead and order the sporter profile laminate stock and sand the needed areas to relief for a thicker barrel profile.

Inletting the barrel channel is pretty simple. There will be options for 110/112 heavy barrel models out there, but you might have to do a little wiggling on their site to find the right combination of barrel channel and magazine type.

Otherwise, again, inletting the barrel channel is quite simple. If you can't accomplish it yourself, any local smith can do it at relatively low cost compared to your barrel.

Ditto what the others said. Buy the standard contour stock and open it up later when you get a heavier barrel. It ain't hard, a simple DIY project.
