007 Type Radio

Looks to me as though that there is a fold up rifle designed to look like a radio, possibly something designed during WWII to get to the "resistance"?

Whatever it is, you can see the chamber(s) in the last picture with the "antennae" removed.

These are some of the clearest photographs I have seen of this, the others never seemed to reproduce well in publications.

The workmanship looks nicer than I would have thought, did you get to shoot it too or just handle and take pictures?

Very neat - I see now in the photo's that the maker was Dave Boatman, I didn't realize that the ARES gun had been made by other manufacturers besides ARES and I think Pearl in New Mexico. If you can share any of its specific history that would be appreciated.

So it really is some sort of Boom Box, just like I thought!

:D

Yes a very compact ghetto blaster:evil: . To bad there isn't a legal (or inexpensive) way to own one if you're a non-LEO. The closest thing to it is Kel-Tec's Sub Rifles.

Is that antena actually supposed to fool anyone?

Or is it actually a tactical, extendable baton, for riot control purposes? I remember my brother whacked me across the ass with one of those old radio antenas once and I was sore for weeks.

Oleg, out of sheer curiosity, I would be interested to know what camera and lighting setup you use for these pictures. I am a semi-amateur digital photographer, primarily using a Canon 20D these days. I really admire your lighting on your photographs; usually the hardest part of getting a good picture.

Canon 10D, 50mm lens, couple of flashes (one reflected from the ceiling, one in a small softbox -- the lighting gear wasn't mine, so I only noticed they were Photogenic brand).

Terrific pictures Oleg.

Glue a couple of knobs (or better yet, drill a hole and make them rotate) and a fake speaker on it.
