Very neat - I see now in the photo's that the maker was Dave Boatman, I didn't realize that the ARES gun had been made by other manufacturers besides ARES and I think Pearl in New Mexico. If you can share any of its specific history that would be appreciated.
Yes a very compact ghetto blaster . To bad there isn't a legal (or inexpensive) way to own one if you're a non-LEO. The closest thing to it is Kel-Tec's Sub Rifles.
Or is it actually a tactical, extendable baton, for riot control purposes? I remember my brother whacked me across the ass with one of those old radio antenas once and I was sore for weeks.
Oleg, out of sheer curiosity, I would be interested to know what camera and lighting setup you use for these pictures. I am a semi-amateur digital photographer, primarily using a Canon 20D these days. I really admire your lighting on your photographs; usually the hardest part of getting a good picture.
Canon 10D, 50mm lens, couple of flashes (one reflected from the ceiling, one in a small softbox -- the lighting gear wasn't mine, so I only noticed they were Photogenic brand).
