I recently purchased a used 900 size-o-matic loader. It is in nearly new condition. I have loaded for years on my mec but have not been able to solve the problem I have been having with the PW loader
Here is the load info:
WW AA hulls
Federal 209 primers
Red Dot powder
Winchester WT12 wad (I have also used the WAA12 with same results)
17.5 grains of powder
1 1/8 oz. of shot size 7.5
The finished shell is about 1/16th of an inch longer than the factory loads (about the length of the shell rim) which results in a small hole in the middle of the crimp (about the size of a piece of 7.5 shot)
I have adjusted the primary crimp depth screw as well as the spring tension to adjust the "roll" or "taper" of the shell. I have not adjusted the crimp starter. I do not see this issue addressed in the owners manual and am hoping some of you can help me out with this problem.
