Pyrodex pellets

Too expensive. For the price I'll go to the trouble of dumping loose powder in the chamber. I doubt there is any performance benefit, unless you're too lazy to measure the powder.

Pyrodex pellets are actually quite nice. They tend to cause more recoil in black powder revolvers. My Uberti 1858 remington shoots very well with them.

I had a little trouble with a pietta 1862 colt copy, as the recoil caused the balls to move forward and unseat over the charge. The pietta also had the problem of not having enough chamber space, as the ball, when seated completly, brushed the forcing cone. so check your chamber depth.

The pellets are nice for use on ranges. Our range officer wants you pour powder from flask, to measure, and then measure to gun. Rather than from flask to gun. So the pellets simplify the process.

Yes they cost more, but they elminate the need for flask and measure. In the field they make for a faster reload, which means more time shooting. Plus, they are less corrosive than BP.
