Hey guys. Anyone a fan of balisong ("butterfly") knives? I had a cheap one when I was 17, about 9 years ago - it was something like ten dollars... but I loved it, and have had some trouble finding a replacement for it. I don't know exactly what happened to it, must have lost it somewhere along the way. The online company I bought it from (BUDK) doesn't seem to carry them anymore.

I'd love to pick up one with a kris-style blade. I'd like to limit the price to something below $50, if possible.

Edit: ...Apparently they've resumed selling them. Sorry about that.

But if you guys know of a place that sells them with kris blades (BUDK doesn't), I'd love to know about em.

Search for "butterfly" or "balisong" and you'll find plenty of threads here on them with good sources.

Rule of thumb for balis, don't look at anything less than $50.

Had mine brought back from the Philipines. Hand made out of spring steel, brass and wood handles. It doesn't look like a top of the line knife by our standards, but it is a sweet knife.

You probably won't be able to find a good one for that price unless someone doesn't know what they have.

Kris blades are particularly uncommon. If you are dead set on that, you might be able to find an FHM (Filipino HandMade) with that profile. But not for $50.
