I'm considering a Kimura balisong made by Bradley Cutlery.

Apparently, all BC knives are made in America, which is nice to know. The blades and handles are stainless steel (I like my knives to have some weight to them), and lack the little clips many butterfly knives have on the handles, which annoy me. Also, at just over $100, their prices seems really reasonable, and they seem to have pretty favorable reviews. Just wondered if any THR members have had any experiences with them, either good or bad. Thanks a bunch.

Considering these three knives, by the way:

Kimura VI Tanto

Kimura III Tanto

Kimura II Spear

Edit: From what I understand, Benchmade makes very popular butterfly knives, but many (all?) of their balisongs are spring-loaded to assist with opening. I haven't used one of these springs, so I can't say I don't like them, but I know I love balisongs without the springs, so the three knives linked above all fit the bill.

I've handled Bradley knives and liked their work enough to even buy one. I haven't handled their balis, but I do want one of their Mayhems.

last I checked, the kimura is made for bradley by kershaw, and Benchmade makes the mayhem for them.

The springs you speak of are just in the latch. Squeeze the handles together and the latch pops and stays open. they do not affect flipping at all.

The Kimura VIII is also available It has G10 scales on the handles, and is heavier since it isn't skeletonized.

That sounds right.
