Quality of: Bushnell 4200, Leupold VX-II, VX-III and Zeiss Conquest

How is the quality of the Bushnell 4200 and Leupold VX-II scopes compared the Zeiss Conquest and VX-III?

Which out of the Bushnell 4200 and Leupold VX-II scopes has the best picture? Which out of the Zeiss Conquest and VX-III?

Basically I want to compare all of these scopes!

Every one of them will hit a deer equally well. Each one will have a nice picture.

Look through all of them, and see which one you like, especially given the price of each. The law of diminishing marginal returns on investment applies to scopes, too.

Look through some Burris scopes, too, if you can.

You're going to have to decide, I think.

If you have an unlimited supply of cash, just buy the most expensive Euroscope you can find. It'll be the nicest, if only slightly nicer in any practical sense than a VX-II, 4200, Fullfield II, etc. for under 300 bucks.

I'd strongly consider a target/tactical/whatever-they-call-it scope, then. The scopes you listed will all hit targets equally well, too, when sighted in. The differences you may find will be the features that make the scope work well at multiple distances, in the wind, etc.

Those turrets, an adjustable objective, etc. are really nice if you're not worried about carry weight, complexity in the field, or protruding stuff on your rifle.

I know that there are a few of these in the product lines you mention, but you may want to ask people about those models specifically.

From what I gather the optics in the Leupold VXII and VX-III lines are identical. The difference is in the controls.

The Zeiss optics are, in a word, superb. It doesn't get much better in terms of optical clarity and overall quality. I've had the opportunity to use product from both Zeiss and a Swarovski. I lust after them greatly even though I can't afford either. You pay a pretty steep premium for that last few percent of optical goodness.

Bushnell was once part of Bausch & Lomb and is now a sister division of Tasco and three sunglass brands (Bollé, Serengeti, and H2Optix) under the Bushnell Performance Optics corporate umbrella.

The reason I bring this up is because the "Super Sniper" scopes that get rave reviews from everyone who has used them are actually made by Tasco.

I think the Bushnell scopes are some of the most underrated scopes in the business. I have them on all of my scoped guns, and my long-range shooter has the Elite 3200 10x40 fixed power "tactical" scope. I couldn't be more pleased, especially for the cost.
